There are few things finer than a walk among the trees on an autumn day.
Laura Jaworski

Nothing says fall like pumpkin spice lattes, oversized chunky sweaters, the sound of leaves crunching beneath your feet, and the slightly cooler morning and evening air. While summer may be a time for al fresco dining, barbeques, and giving the oven a rest so as to keep the kitchen cool, fall can be a time to bring back baking and filling the kitchen with sweet smells – finding comfort and enjoyment in making a pumpkin bread or apple pie. There can be something so relaxing in spending time in the kitchen baking something delicious to share and enjoy with others.
But we can still hold on to those activities so cherished during the summer months. We are for sure easing into fall this year. This may mean swimming outdoors as long as possible while the lake is still warm from the summer or snatching that evening light for a short walk while we still can. Fall is the perfect time to stay active and especially enjoy hiking or biking through trails while taking in the beautiful colours.
Canada has some of the best experiences here – often called a hiker’s paradise – and the vivid fall foliage is nothing short of spectacular. Here are some ideas for hiking, biking, apple picking, or bird-watching adventures to take advantage of while the season is at its best:
